After the successes of the metal-leaning Annon Domini High Definition and the more hard rock experience of 2013's Shine of the New Generation Slaves (#18 on Billboard Heatseekers), Riverside continue their growth with an album that brings to mind a more mature version of their debut, Out of Myself. They are simultaneously returning to their roots while crafting a new and more focused Riverside. Love, Fear and the Time Machine is a summary of their musical journey so far and the opening to a new chapter in their career. Love, Fear... is over an hour long and consists of compositions which are some of the most melodic in the band's career. They have abandoned the foundations of their previous approach towards composing; no more 15-minute songs here.
